East Side Retail Park Leeds Hits 96% Let and Pre-Sold

East Side Retail Park Leeds Hits 96% Let and Pre-Sold

Only one unit remains at the 71,250 sq ft Garforth Retail Park

Two new deals mean that East Side Retail Park, which only completed at the end of last year, is now 96% let and pre-sold. The latest tenant, Sue Ryder, has taken 5,405 sq ft and 2,000 sq ft is under offer to Greggs.

The retailers join anchor tenant Lidl, as well as Home Bargains, Marstons Pub and Westwood Vets’ purpose-built clinic at the popular site, which sits adjacent to Garforth railway station and close to the M1/A1(M).

The park has been delivered by C&W Property Developments, a joint venture between Yorkshire-based Caddick Construction and property investor Duncan Waller. Caddick Construction completed the build at the end of 2018.

Caddick Construction has famed for delivering some of the region’s best-known retail projects, including the Core in Leeds city centre, Vangarde Shopping Park in York and Kilner Way Retail Park in Sheffield.

The site includes 298 car-parking spaces for shoppers, with five electric vehicle charging facilities. The final 2,962 sq ft unit has received a lot of interest.

Duncan Waller, director at C&W Property Developments, said:

“It’s great to see this multi-million-pound property investment is almost full so soon after completion.  The development is benefitting local shoppers by offering a greater choice of shops and convenience.

“Shoppers are looking for ‘value’ and this is a development housing some of the UK market leaders in this sector. East Side Retail Park’s success is a testament to strong retailer demand for accessible large format retail with plenty of on-site free parking and a secure environment.”

Adrian Dobson, commercial director at Caddick Construction, said: “The success of East Side Retail Park just months following completion underlines our experience in delivering high-quality retail developments across Yorkshire.”

Lidl UK's Regional Head of Property, Graham Burr, said: "We're incredibly proud of our new store and are pleased to have played a key role in the development of the retail park. As more people seek out Lidl’s quality products and excellent value, it serves as an excellent location for our customers in and around Garforth, who no longer have to travel further afield."

Liz Askew, clinical director at Westwood Veterinary Practice, said: "We've been in Garforth for over 25 years, and are hugely excited to have moved into our new premises. Having a larger, purpose-built facility has allowed us to offer a greater range of services to our clients, and East Side Retail Park, with its plentiful parking and good location, is a perfect fit for our new home."
