The project was situated on an existing open air coach park on the outskirts of York City Centre and involved the demolition of an existing toilet facility with excavation of the tarmac coach parking area. The construction was primarily steel frame clad with brickwork and render to the upper section of the building. The new building accommodates three appliance bay entrances, along with welfare, gym and administrative office area and sleeping accommodation for the fire crew.
