Caddick Construction awarded new car dealership contract

Knottingley-based business, Caddick Construction has won a multi-million pound contract to create a new Evans Halshaw Vauxhall car dealership on the corner of Gelderd Road and Leeds City Ring Road.

Caddick Construction has been awarded the contract by parent company Pendragon Property Holdings. The construction team began work at the start of January and are scheduled to be on site for 30 weeks, with the completion due in Summer 2016.

The creation of Vauxhall’s latest 20,000 sq ft dealership will house a showroom, reception area and office space all in their modern corporate identity. The project is also set to achieve a Very Good BREEAM Rating. To achieve this the building will incorporate low energy/ high efficiency lighting, high efficiency heat pumps to deal with heating and cooling of the showroom.  Photovoltaics on the roof which will contribute to 10% of the energy requirement, and solar controlled glazing panels in the showroom to minimise solar gain.

Andrew Murray, Managing Director at Caddick Construction, comments: “We’re really pleased to be working with Pendragon again, following the recent successful completion of BMW and Mini in Leeds. The project really enhances our automotive construction work and is a great opportunity for us to expand our portfolio with UK’s leading automotive retailer.”
