Caddick Construction completes new Yorkshire residential scheme

Caddick Construction has completed the design and build of a new £4.5 million residential apartment scheme on Stuart Road in Pontefract on behalf of WDH.

The development comprises a three-storey residential block of 37 individual one and two-bedroom apartments with adjoining communal areas. The properties have been made available for affordable rent and offer local people the opportunity to put down roots in a corner of Pontefract now known as the gateway to the town.

Sitting on the former fire station site, this development forms part of Wakefield Council’s Reconnecting Pontefract Masterplan, which includes proposals for the redevelopment of selected priority areas around the town centre.

With sustainability at the forefront of Caddick’s design and build, plans ensured that environmentally sound materials and strategic supply chain partners were utilised and that electric vehicle charging points were also incorporated in the car parking areas.

Paul Dodsworth, Managing Director at Caddick Construction commented: “Our residential portfolio continues to grow. Caddick Construction, has a wealth of exciting new regional developments due for completion within the year, from £57 million apartment blocks at SOYO Leeds to multiple low rise residential sites across Yorkshire and the North West. It is with great pleasure that we add Stuart Road to our ever growing list of completed projects. We’re thrilled to have been tasked by WDH to bring their vision to life with the delivery of these high quality, contemporary homes that reflect the industrial heritage of the area.”

“It’s exciting times as the Caddick business continues to expand in geography and client base, we are delighted to be delivering our next project for WDH which is already on site.”

Sue Young, Executive Director of Investment at WDH commented: “Partnership working is so important when completing projects that improve communities and local areas. By working with Caddick we have been able to provide new affordable homes for the local community and regenerate the gateway to Pontefract. These homes will create new opportunities whilst improving the area for existing residents.”
