Caddick Construction delivering new industrial space for Leeds

Caddick Construction, the family-run Yorkshire-based construction firm, is set to deliver a new high quality industrial site in Leeds on behalf of industrial and commercial property specialists Towngate plc, another Yorkshire-based firm.

The site is located in Cross Green, Leeds, LS9, a largely industrial area that is only a 10 minute drive south east from the city centre. Caddick Construction has been commissioned to build a series of portal framed warehouses with metal cladding, as well as carrying out external works and improving the drainage on site.

Construction is already underway, with the project set to be completed in February 2019. This is the first time Caddick and Towngate have worked together.

The site adds to Caddick’s growing industrial expertise, which includes the Crosspoint 33 site in Knottingley, a 1.3 million sq. ft. distribution centre for TJX Europe that was forward sold to Tritax Big Box REIT, and Tunstall Arrow, a 28-acre five-unit speculative industrial development near Stoke-on-Trent.

Andrew Murray, Managing Director at Caddick Construction, said: “As a Yorkshire-based, family business, it’s great to be working with another local business specialising in industrial property, which is a huge growth area not just for us but the real estate sector as a whole.”

Robert Smith, Managing Director of Towngate plc, commented: “Caddick Construction have a proven track record of delivering institutional-grade assets, and as we look to capitalise on growing demand for industrial space in the North we couldn’t ask for a better delivery partner.”
