Caddick Construction named as a Child Friendly Leeds Ambassador

Caddick Construction is delighted to have been named as a Child Friendly Leeds Ambassador.

We are proud to join over 750 businesses, organisations and individuals as part of the growing campaign to make Leeds a better place for everyone growing up in the city -particularly to address the issue and challenges that can prevent children from realising their potential.

Child Friendly Leeds is part of Leeds City Council which is building something unique whilst helping to celebrate and empower those growing up in Leeds today; as well as building a more socially and economically successful city for the future.

Debbie Watson, Caddick Construction’s Social Value Manager said: “Caddick has two major housing schemes currently ongoing in Leeds and we wanted to contribute to the city’s sustainability goals so the benefits can be passed on to the next generation.

“CFL's strategy and goals are very much aligned with Caddick, as a family business we pride ourselves as a responsible contractor and we always want to have a positive impact on the local areas we are working in.”

Caddick Construction plans to help young people not in employment, education or training; offering work experience; and improving achievements, attainment and attendance at school through careers and motivational events.

She added: “We will also contribute to the charities that are working directly with families and young people living in poverty to try and make a real difference.”

Caddick Construction believe this kind of city-wide initiative is even more important now as children and young people face another lockdown that limits their social and educational interactions.

Councillor Fiona Venner, Executive Member for Children and Families said: "We are always looking for more businesses to become Child Friendly Leeds Ambassadors.  I am therefore delighted to welcome Caddick Construction to our growing ambassador network and their pledge to look at how they can help make Leeds a great place to live for every child in the city. I very much look forward to building a partnership with them, which will benefit children and families in Leeds."
