Caddick provides career advice at a new virtual level

Caddick Construction has taken career advice to a new virtual level after producing a video tour with key site personnel to inspire young people to think about a career in construction.

A virtual tour was arranged on the iconic Leeds SOYO site where Caddick Construction is currently busy on the £300m scheme creating a new neighbourhood at the heart of Leeds’ cultural quarter. The detailed video tour was also supported and included a series of mini interviews with key staff who were able to offer advice and insight into what opportunities were available in the construction industry.

The virtual package was then sent out to local college and training provides a media tool to enhance their career advice as school and college leavers prepare to start their last term before heading on to higher education or training opportunities.

Said Debbie Watson, Caddick’s Social Value Manager: “Health and safety is always the priority on our construction sites so the opportunity to have work placements or visitors in the last 12 months has been severely restricted. We thought a virtual tour and team interviews might help to fill that information gap a little and the feedback has been really positive. We want as many talented young people as possible to consider a career in construction and we didn’t see why anyone should miss out this year on having the right information to make an informed decision about their future.”
