It's official - Beehive Business Park handover

Ulverston Mayor Cllr Sharon Webster has welcomed the opening of the Aldi store at the Beehive Business Park to mark a new chapter for the town, following Caddick Construction's completion of phase one of the project.

Accompanied by Deputy Mayor Amanda Rigg, she met developer Brian Scott of Rawdon Property Group and Caddick Construction Project Manager Derek Billows (back, right) for the formal handover.

They also unveiled new signage outside the Aldi store that aims to link the business park more closely with the town, promoting shops and festivals and mapping out parking.

A spokesman for the developers Rawdon Property Group explained: “It is hugely satisfying to achieve handover just over a year after starting construction on the site.  As the main contractor, Caddick Construction has done a splendid job in driving progress on the site despite some very challenging weather conditions in the early stages, and the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic.  Their hard work and careful management of the project has been a vital factor in our success."

Cllr Webster said: “There is a lot of excitement in Ulverston about the new business park because of the extra shopping choice it will offer and the jobs it brings to the town.  The development now looks fantastic and I am sure it will prove very popular.”
