Caddick were awarded the contract to design and build Wakefield515, a new 512,850 sq ft cross-docked logistics warehouse in Knottingley.
The works included the construction of a steel-framed single storey 488,500 sq ft warehouse, a 16,000 sq ft 2 storey office accommodation, and an 8,000 sq ft hub office.
External works included the construction of 350 sq ft gatehouse, 229 HGV trailer parking spaces, 393 car parking spaces, 8 electric vehicle parking spaces, 8 level access doors, and 80 dock doors.
The scheme incorporated sustainable features including rainwater harvesting systems, use of energy-efficient materials, PV ready roof, and LED motor sensor lighting. The building was built to a BREEAM rating of 'Very Good' and EPC rating of 'A'.
