Caddick completed the reconfigurement and refurbishment of Kendal Town Hall and South Lakeland House on behalf of South Lakeland District Council.
The project created new, modern town centre offices to support the council’s Customer Connect Programme and workspace for other businesses, including MintWork2 to boost business start-ups and the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises.
As well as upgrading working facilities, the refurbishment increased the range of events that can be accommodated at the Town Hall. It provided disability access, opened up more meeting room space for community groups, and provided a joint reception area. The refurbishment is sympathetic to the Town Hall’s listing and enables greater use of the building by the public.
