Caddick becomes Gold Patron of the Wigan Youth Zone

Caddick becomes Gold Patron of the Wigan Youth Zone

Caddick Construction has pledged Gold Patron status to the Wigan Youth Zone having supported the regional charity since becoming Silver Patrons back in 2021. The move to Gold patronage will see Caddick Construction pledge £10,000 a year to the Greater Manchester charity.

Built, launched, and supported by the national charity, OnSide Youth Zones, Wigan Youth Zone has been delivering vital work within the wider Wigan community for ten years and aims not only to get young people off the streets but to help them achieve their dreams and develop real and achievable aspirations for the future.

Support from local businesses and individuals is crucial to the ongoing success of the Wigan Youth Zone, located on Parsons Walk, open to the town’s young people. The charity must raise a minimum of £1.6 million every year just to keep its doors open.

This extended charity partnership follows Caddick’s completion of Sandalwood Extra Care, on behalf of Wigan Council. This scheme adds to the portfolio of work already delivered within the local community; existing developments also include Lever Gardens Extra Care and Central Street on behalf of PlaceFirst both in nearby Bolton. Caddick also turned its expertise to the nearby Birchwood Park industrial development, in the newly constructed Cavendish House.

Speaking of this patronage, Caddick Construction Group’s Managing Director, Paul Dodsworth, commented: “At Caddick, we’re passionate about investing in the next generation and helping them to build the futures they deserve. That’s why continuing our relationship with the Wigan Youth Zone was the right decision for us. They’re a brilliant charity that works hard to improve and inspire young lives in the region.”

The Onside Network of Youth Zones fund, build, launch and support a national network of state-of-the-art, multi-million-pound, Youth Zones in the UK’s most economically disadvantaged areas. The Youth Zones are staffed by skilled and dedicated youth workers who believe in young people – helping them see what they could achieve and giving them the skills, confidence, and ambition to realise their potential.
