Yorkshire-based Caddick Construction has signed the Ministry of Defence’s Armed Forces Covenant, in a pledge to support the UK’s military community and help attract more veterans into the construction industry.
As a registered signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant, Caddick is formalising its ongoing support for military personnel, including active recruitment of veterans, reservists and military spouses.
The pledge, which ensures the fair treatment of those who serve or have served, and their families, will also see Caddick honour Armed Forces Day, Reserves Day, the Poppy Appeal, and other military-related events.
Caddick currently employs 12 ex service personnel, all of which have brought a wealth of experience and discipline to the construction industry.
Paul Dodsworth, Group Managing Director of Caddick Construction Group, commented: “Between January 2024 and January 2025 almost 190,000 military personnel left the British armed forces, and a great majority of them are transitioning into new civilian careers. We are proud to sign the Armed Forces Covenant and formally recognise the immense value that members of the armed forces community can bring to our industry.
“As a construction business, we see first-hand how the discipline, leadership and problem-solving abilities developed in military service translate seamlessly into our sector. As an Armed Forces Covenant signatory, we are not only honouring the military community’s service but also strengthening our team with their unique skills and experience.”
