Construction Commences On Bold New Residential Vision For Digbeth

Caddick Construction and Cole Waterhouse, in their joint venture with Taurus Investment Holdings and Housing Growth Partnership, have celebrated the official start on site of one of Birmingham's most anticipated regeneration projects, Upper Trinity Street, marking a major milestone for the project and significant investment in the city.

Developer, Cole Waterhouse, and main contractor, Caddick, recently welcomed Birmingham City Council’s Assistant Director within Planning & Development, Simon Delahunty-Forest, amongst development and supply chain partners to mark the start of construction on the first phase of the new Digbeth-based residential development.

Once complete, Upper Trinity Street will form part of an ambitious masterplan to create a thriving creative and cultural hub in the heart of Birmingham, becoming a catalyst for further investment and regeneration in the Digbeth area.

The surrounding regeneration will include the creation of a public Pump House Park, Makers Courtyards, which will comprise working spaces with flexible employment space. Work will also include Adderley Yard, a new venue for leisure and urban events.

Due for completion in Spring 2027, the 182,986 sq. ft Upper Trinity Street scheme will include 211 apartments, 115 of which will be one-bedroom and 96 two-bedroom apartments.

The start on site comes as Caddick approaches its two year milestone since launching in the Midlands in 2023, with Upper Trinity Street adding to the contractor’s growing portfolio of residential and industrial projects across the region.

Ray O’Sullivan, Regional Managing Director of Caddick Construction Midlands, comments: “The redevelopment of brownfield land is an extremely valuable way of meeting growing demand for housing, and regeneration projects of this nature bring much more than homes for local people. Once complete the scheme is set to be a catalyst for growth and investment in Birmingham, but more specifically the Digbeth area, and we look forward to bringing our expertise in high-rise residential to this fantastic scheme for Cole Waterhouse.”

Simon Gallanders, Managing Director of Residential at Cole Waterhouse said: “The excellent progress Caddick have achieved on site marks a significant milestone in the regeneration of the area. Our thanks to our joint venture partners Taurus Investment Holdings and Housing Growth Partnership as well as the support from our senior debt provider BGO and the West Midlands Combined Authority to get us on site and progressing this exciting scheme.”

This project marks a joint venture between Cole Waterhouse, House Growth Partnership, Taurus Investment Holdings, and Real Estate Lender BGO, with a £60million Joint Venture agreed to bring forward the first phase of the Upper Trinity Street residential development.
